Flowpane Documentation
Flowpane is a site governance platform for anyone who owns or manages websites, regardless of CMS or platform. Whether you look after one website or a large portfolio, it observes governance artefacts on the public web, applies explicit scoring models, and brings findings, recommendations and reports into one dashboard. Scores are Flowpane's product models, not legal-compliance certificates.

What Flowpane monitors
Flowpane assesses eight governance artefact types:
| Artefact | Purpose | Specification |
|---|---|---|
| robots.txt | Expresses crawler access preferences | robotstxt.org |
| ads.txt | Declares authorised digital ad sellers | IAB Tech Lab |
| security.txt | Security contact and disclosure policy | RFC 9116 |
| llms.txt | Curates site context and resources for language models | llmstxt.org |
| ai.txt | Declares optional AI-use preferences in Flowpane's supported dialect | Community convention; not an RFC or enforcement mechanism |
| humans.txt | Credits the people behind the site | humanstxt.org |
| Cookies & Consent | Records bounded tracker and CMP discovery evidence | Observation only; not legal-compliance proof |
| XML Sitemaps | URL inventory for search engines | sitemaps.org |
Core concepts
Sites are the websites you monitor. Add them individually or in bulk, verify that you control them, and Flowpane starts checking.
Workspaces group Sites by client, team, project or another structure that suits you. Members and roles are set per Workspace. Workspaces belong to your Organisation, which holds the plan.
Governance checks examine publicly available resources and record findings you can review. A score can be unavailable when usable evidence cannot be established.
The Site score is a weighted composite across the eight artefacts, shown in Site views.
Workbenches are the detailed views. The six fixed text Workbenches separate observed Current content from Proposed drafts; Cookies & Consent is evidence-only; Sitemaps has its own scan, crawl, editor and deployment lifecycle.
Reports provide a dated Site snapshot as a PDF. On eligible plans, authorised administrators can also email it to active report recipients. Delivery state records the sending outcome, rather than inbox placement.
