robots.txt on Shopify
Shopify generates a default robots.txt. Customisation uses a robots.txt.liquid theme template. Ask the authorised store maintainer to follow Shopify's current editing guidance; Shopify Support does not support these custom code edits.
Review before changing
Inspect the public response and confirm the intended crawler and paths. Keep Shopify's default groups where appropriate instead of replacing them with a broad static rule. A crawl restriction does not make an account or checkout page private and does not necessarily prevent indexing.
After an authorised change, read the public robots.txt and run a new Flowpane check. This guidance does not imply a Flowpane Shopify connection or automatic store editing. See sitemap ownership on Shopify.
