WordPress compatibility overview¶
Flowpane uses versions reported by your paired WordPress Connector. It does not fingerprint frontend assets or ask plugin vendors about your site. Compatibility awareness is separate from public governance checks and never changes your Site governance score.
Open Site → Integrations → Connector → Environment compatibility. Expand a row to see the reason, reported version and source, evidence date, recommended action and documentation. The rows describe the last report; refresh Connector status after an upgrade. A disconnected or stale Connector cannot establish a current installation version.
What the labels mean¶
- Supported: the exact environment is in Flowpane's evidenced matrix and no higher-priority condition applies. It is not a guarantee for every theme, extension or host.
- Update recommended: Flowpane has positive evidence for the newer release in your exact environment. Vendor latest alone never qualifies. Test the change before applying it.
- Support ends soon: an authoritative security-support deadline is within 120 days.
- Unsupported: the Connector minimum is not met, or the PHP branch has passed its authoritative security-support deadline.
- Compatibility not yet verified: version evidence is missing or the version/environment combination is outside the tested matrix. Newer does not mean unsupported.
Precedence is unsupported, support ends soon, unverified, update recommended, supported. Each row retains all applicable reasons: a PHP lifecycle warning can coexist with an untested runtime. Dates use UTC; support includes the stated final day.
Compatibility labels do not automatically change augmentation policy. Existing Connector contract, identity, entitlement and write-safety checks continue to apply. Public observation continues independently.

Only these exact cells are verified. PHP 8.4 and 8.5, premium plugin editions, other plugins and other environment combinations are not covered. The disposable tests use SQLite integration, the official Free plugin distributions and the real WordPress generators; they are not a claim about every production database/hosting combination.

Plan changes with your maintainer¶
Back up the site, review vendor requirements, test on a disposable copy, then arrange the upgrade with the site maintainer or host. Flowpane does not maintain, patch or upgrade WordPress, PHP or SEO plugins.
When upstream changes, Flowpane's operator watcher requests verification. The workflow is detect → test → review evidence → update catalogue → release. A vendor HTTP response cannot declare a release Flowpane-supported. Historical decisions can be reconstructed from the reported facts, evaluation date and committed catalogue/evaluator versions. Compatibility creates no audit event on page views or routine heartbeats in v1.
