XML validation

Flowpane reviews sitemap structure and content including reachability, XML parsing, index/urlset shape, protocol/host consistency, URL/file limits, duplicates and lastmod syntax. Review findings about freshness, reliability and coverage where the relevant crawl evidence is available.

A public sitemap being absent, unreachable or malformed remains distinct evidence rather than a generic fixed-file “Not Found” result.

Correct structure is only one step

An index and a URL set have different structures. Validate the actual response, including escaped characters and complete URLs, rather than an HTML page served at a sitemap-looking address. Review duplicates, dates and host consistency against the intended Site.

For example, a syntactically valid URL can still point to a redirect or a noindex page. Investigate the page evidence separately. Follow the sitemap protocol, then run another scan after authorised publication. Validation does not guarantee inclusion in a search index.
