Common llms.txt issues

File not found

llms.txt is externally optional, but Flowpane recommends and scores it. A missing observed file is shown as Recommended file is missing and scores 0/100. Creating or saving a starter draft does not change that observed result; deployment and a later live check are required.

Content needing customisation

File exists but lacks meaningful descriptions.

Fix: Add only verified descriptions and resource links. Do not use llms.txt to declare crawler access or AI usage permissions.

Missing summary or sections

A summary and H2 resource sections can improve usefulness. These are recommendations, rather than mandatory protocol requirements; supply your own verified descriptions and URLs.

Bare or malformed links

Resource lists work best with descriptive Markdown links. Use descriptive link labels and review any suggested correction before saving.

No Optional section

The Optional section is itself optional. Its absence is score-neutral and never triggers an automatic fix.

Resolve the cause, then verify

First compare the finding with the obtained Current content. If the expected text URL returns a theme page, challenge or redirect, ask the responsible host or CMS maintainer to correct that response. A browser-visible page does not establish that the resource was readable to Flowpane.

Choose useful, public resources and accurate descriptions. Keep the guide focused and review links when content changes.

Prepare a focused correction, check authored details and use your authorised publication process. This is an optional convention. It does not force a model to fetch, honour, cite or avoid content and does not grant licences or enforce access controls. A saved draft or dismissed notice is not proof of remediation; repeat the public check afterwards.
