robots.txt on Joomla
Joomla can serve a physical robots.txt file from the site root. Confirm which file, hosting tool or extension owns the actual public response before changing it. Your authorised maintainer can use the host's file-editing process; supported connected Sites may offer a separate Joomla managed Apply action.
Common issues
- Default file doesn't include a
Sitemap:directive — add one manually - After Joomla updates, verify the file wasn't overwritten
- Confirm whether a hosting tool or Joomla extension manages the file
Supported managed changes
Connecting Flowpane does not give permission to modify the Site. Managed changes must be explicitly enabled separately. An offered Joomla robots.txt Apply uses the supported saved, validated and reviewed revision; saving a draft alone does not publish it.
Read the public result and run another governance check after publication. Do not assume that a CMS setting and a physical file produce identical content. See Joomla management.
