Explorer shows your discovered sitemaps and their URLs. It lets you select sitemap indexes/children and inspect the observed URL evidence.

Summary cards

Sitemaps found — count of indexes and urlsets
Total URLs — total across all sitemaps
Duplicate URLs — duplication rate
Protocol — HTTPS consistency

Hierarchical view: index files → child sitemaps with URL counts.

Findings

The observed sitemap checks and evidence for the selected level. The canonical composite and priority findings are summarised in Overview.

Interpret an observation, not an inventory guarantee

Review the discovered documents and their individual results. An index can succeed while a child cannot be read. Separate XML quality, URL declarations and page observations instead of treating them as one pass/fail verdict.

Use sitemap comparison for differences against available crawl evidence. If a count changes, confirm the Site, document set and run date before concluding that pages were added or lost.
