Connecting a Next.js Site with Flowpane

Connect after the installation is deployed, so Flowpane can confirm that the installation is on your Site.

  1. In Flowpane, open the Site, then Settings → Integrations → Next.js integration, and choose Get connection token. You need permission to manage the Site's integrations.
  2. On your computer, in the application folder, run npx flowpane-next connect and paste the token when asked. The token is short-lived, single-use and only for this Site. The command does not need your Flowpane password.
  3. Add the FLOWPANE_NEXT_CONNECTION value from .flowpane/connection.env to the same server-only place as the identity: your host settings or, if the value is too long for them, the server-only .env.production file described in Installation. Keep FLOWPANE_NEXT_IDENTITY unchanged.
  4. Restart or redeploy as your host requires.
  5. After Flowpane's next scheduled health check, normally within 20 minutes, refresh the Integrations page. Confirm the connection is healthy and the detected Next.js version and router are correct.

If the token expires before you use it, get a new one. Keep both values private: never send them to support, paste them into screenshots or commit them.

What to expect

A quiet Site stays healthy without changes being recorded. A new deployment whose evidence is unchanged records nothing. When a relevant source changes, Flowpane records Source activity once and checks the public Site; only that public check can record a Change or Finding. See Source activity, health and change summaries.

Connecting does not give Flowpane permission to change the Site, and it does not change your Site's score.
