WordPress compatibility overview

Flowpane shows environment versions reported by your connected WordPress installation. Refresh its status after an upgrade. Compatibility information does not change your Site governance score or upgrade WordPress, PHP or plugins.

Open Site → Integrations → Connector → Environment compatibility. Expand a row to see the reason, reported version and source, evidence date, recommended action and documentation. The rows describe the last report; reconnect where necessary and refresh Connector status after an upgrade to confirm the current installation version.

What the labels mean

  • Supported: the exact environment is in Flowpane's evidenced matrix and no higher-priority condition applies. It is not a guarantee for every theme, extension or host.
  • Update recommended: Flowpane has positive evidence for the newer release in your exact environment. A vendor’s latest release is not by itself a compatibility recommendation. Test the change before applying it.
  • Support ends soon: an authoritative security-support deadline is within 120 days.
  • Unsupported: the Connector minimum is not met, or the PHP branch has passed its authoritative security-support deadline.
  • Compatibility not yet verified: version evidence is missing or the version/environment combination is outside the tested matrix. Newer does not mean unsupported.

Read each row’s explanation and evidence date. A vendor support deadline and a tested environment combination describe different aspects of compatibility.

Compatibility labels describe the reported environment. Check the management actions offered for your connected Site separately; public observation does not grant publication authority.

Current installed-agent compatibility

The current release is 3.0.0-r8, dated 30 September 2026. Its supported range is WordPress 6.4 or newer at the site origin root; PHP 8.1–8.5 with sodium; MySQL 8.0+ or MariaDB 10.6+ with InnoDB.

Tested combinations

WordPress PHP Database
7.1.2 8.5.10 MariaDB 11.8.9
7.1.2 8.4.25 MySQL 8.4.9
7.1.2 8.3.33 MariaDB 11.4.5
7.1.2 8.2.33 MySQL 8.0.46
6.8.3 8.1.33 MariaDB 10.6.28
6.4.3 8.1.27 MariaDB 10.11.19

These are complete tested combinations, not interchangeable version lists. Confirm another combination within the supported ranges with Flowpane before installation. Multisite networks and other hosting configurations are not covered by these cells. SEO-plugin compatibility is a separate question; do not infer it from this installed-agent table.

The version labels above describe the current package support policy and recorded tests. They do not certify every theme, plugin or host. The compatibility panel may show an earlier catalogue evidence date; read that date and the reason shown for your installation.

Plan changes with your maintainer

Back up the site, review vendor requirements, test on a disposable copy, then arrange the upgrade with the site maintainer or host. Flowpane does not maintain, patch or upgrade WordPress, PHP or SEO plugins.

Connection availability

WordPress connection is live in a reviewed environment. The field evidence is narrow and does not establish general availability for all customer installations. Confirm onboarding and the exact CMS/PHP/database combination with Flowpane before installing or promising support to a client.

Connection enables supported observation; Managed changes is a separate authority. Page-policy and Flowpane-managed sitemap capabilities must be explicitly offered for the connected Site. This does not authorise replacing Yoast, Rank Math or another producer's output.

Connect WordPress

Before you connect WordPress, confirm arranged Site access and the complete supported combination documented above. Install the provided package and follow its offered connection instructions for the intended Site. Confirm the resulting association and available capabilities. Connection is separate from permission to make changes; see Managed changes.
